Hello families and caregivers,

 

My name is Lily, and I am the owner and manager of Jasmine Early Learning. I grew up in China, earned my M.A. in Applied Linguistics, and taught high school for six years before moving to New Zealand in 2016 to pursue Early Childhood Education. In 2019, I started my dayhome in Edmonton with the hope of raising my child in a way that felt right to me. In 2023, we relocated to beautiful Kelowna.

 

Our team includes six dedicated educators. Two of us, including myself, are certified Infant and Toddler Educators; two are Early Childhood Educators, and two are Early Childhood Educator Assistants. All of our teachers speak English, with two fluent in Mandarin, and one fluent in Punjabi and Hindi.

 

Safety is our top priority at Jasmine Early Learning. Our environment is thoughtfully designed to be safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate, giving children the freedom to explore and move with confidence. We offer open spaces and age-appropriate equipment, both indoors and outdoors.

 

I often describe our learning centre as a “mini society,” where children are free to learn and play at their own pace and in their own way. We place a strong emphasis on relationships—with children, families, and between peers. Our curriculum is inspired by the philosophies of Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, and Montessori. These approaches guide us to offer rich outdoor play experiences that connect children with nature, open-ended materials that encourage imagination and creativity, and hands-on learning supported by meaningful one-on-one interactions to help prepare children for academic success.

 

As educators, we are deeply attentive to children’s safety and well-being. We observe their interests, offer resources to support their growth, and provide guidance to nurture their social and emotional development. We see ourselves as co-learners, co-researchers, and co-imaginers—exploring the world alongside the children every day.

大家好！我是Lily，Jasmine Early Learning的创办人兼负责人。我在国内长大，拥有应用语言学硕士学位，并曾在初中任教六年。2016年我留学新西兰，开始专注于幼儿教育的学习与实践。2019年，我在埃德蒙顿创办了家庭式幼儿园，希望以自己认可的方式养育孩子，并于2023年搬到了基洛纳。

 

我们的团队由六位敬业的教师组成。其中两位（包括我自己）是持证的婴幼儿教师，另外两位是幼儿教育教师，还有两位是幼儿教育助理。所有教师都能讲英文，其中两位精通中文，还有一位能说旁遮普语和印地语。

 

在Jasmine早教中心，儿童的安全始终是我们的首要任务。我们的环境经过精心设计，既安全又温馨，让孩子们能够自由探索和活动。我们在室内外都提供开放空间和适龄的玩教具。

 

我常常把我们的学习中心比作一个“微型社会”，孩子们可以以自己的节奏、自己的方式学习和成长。我们非常重视关系的建立——不仅是与孩子之间，也包括与家庭的联系，以及孩子之间的互动。我们的课程灵感来源于华德福（Waldorf）、瑞吉欧（Reggio Emilia）和蒙特梭利（Montessori）教育理念，注重丰富的户外活动以建立与自然的联系，鼓励使用开放式材料以激发想象力和创造力，并通过动手操作和一对一的互动为学术学习做好准备。

 

作为教师，我们时刻关注孩子的安全和身心健康，观察他们的兴趣，提供适当的材料支持他们的学习，并通过引导促进社交情感的发展。我们把自己看作是共同的学习者、研究者与想象者——与孩子们一起探索无限的可能。
